Saint John Riptide News Release

(Saint John, NB): Former Kennebecasis Valley High School star and Dalhousie Tiger, Drew Stratton, has joined the Saint John Mill Rats and will be in uniform tomorrow night against the #1 ranked London Lightning at Harbour Station.

Stratton, a native of Quispamsis, averaged 10.7 points and 5.2 rebounds per game his senior season at Dalhousie in 2008. He recently returned to Canada from a professional stint in Australia with the Northside Wizards of the Australian Basketball Association.

"Drew is a mobile forward who brings intangibles, energy, and depth to our frontline," stated Mill Rats President and General Manager Ian McCarthy. "I reached out to him when I saw online that he was returning from Australia - he was on our radar."

Blalock Continues NBA Quest

Mill Rats point guard Will Blalock was waived by the Charlotte Bobcats after the preseason, but has decided to continue his dream playing in the NBA, by joining the NBA Development league in the hopes of earning a 10-day contract with an NBA club.

The Mill Rats face the #1 ranked London Lightning tomorrow night at 7pm at Harbour Station. The Lightning are led by their Head Coach and former NBA All Star Michael Ray Richardson.

Mill Rats single game and flex tickets are now on sale at the Harbour Station box office 657-1234 or the Mill Rats office 214-4454.
