Florida Tuskers News Release
ORLANDO, FL - Wednesday, July 21, 2010 - Tight end Jason Pociask was obtained by the Florida Tuskers on Wednesday.
Pociask, 6-3, 259, was a 5th round draft pick of the New York Jets out of the University of Wisconsin in 2006. He spent the entire 2006 season on injured reserve before appearing in four games for the Jets in 2007. He had one catch for seven yards that season.
From 2008-09, Pociask spent stints in camp and on the practice rosters of several NFL teams, including New England, Tampa Bay, Indianapolis, Carolina and Seattle.
At Wisconsin, Pociask was used primarily as a blocking tight end in a two-tight end system that included Owen Daniel who was drafted in the first round by the Houston Texans. For his career with the Badgers, Pociask played in 41 games and caught 12 passes for 148 yards.
"Jason will be a good fit with us. He has some NFL experience and understands our system and is familiar with our quarterback Brooks Bollinger," Head Coach Jay Gruden said. "He'll be able to provide quality depth at the tight end position."
