East Kentucky Miners News Release

PIKEVILLE - Former East Kentucky Miner Josh Pace has signed a contract with BC Kalev, a professional basketball team located in Tallinn, Estonia. Last summer, the East Kentucky professional basketball organization made Pace the first signee in franchise history. Pace made the most of his debut season with the Miners. After an exceptional season with East Kentucky, Pace worked out in front of NBA teams during the months of May and June. BC Kalev is a member of the Baltic Basketball League. The team plays in the BBL's Elite division. The Baltic states basketball league was founded in 2004. "I'm very excited for Josh," said East Kentucky Miners Coach Kevin Keathley. "Josh is very deserving of any and all future contracts he signs. He's a first class player both on and off the court. He was, in my view, the most valuable player in the CBA this past season." The former Big East Conference standout led the way for the Miners during their debut season. "Josh will be missed in a Miners uniform," Keathley added. "Myself and team owners Jay Fiedler and Demetrius Ford wish him the very best of success this upcoming season. He always has a home here in Pikeville, Kentucky when he returns from overseas." Pace, who led the CBA in scoring with a 23 points per game average during the 2007-08 season, also received attention from teams based out of Germany and Australia. The Syracuse University graduate had a league-high three triple-doubles for the Miners during the 2007-08 season. Pace helped the Miners to a 26-22 regular-season record and a berth in the CBA Playoffs during the team's debut season. A native of Georgia, Pace was a CBA All-Star and All-CBA Second Team selection. Pace, who is represented by Nate McCray of Dynasty Sports Management, will report to BC Kalev's training camp on August 1.
