East Kentucky Miners News Release

PIKEVILLE, KY. - Former East Kentucky Miner Josh Pace has received an invitation to try out for the NBA's Golden State Warriors. Pace's agent Nate McCray, who works with Dynasty Sports Management of Harrison Township, Mich., has confirmed Pace's invitation to workout for the Warriors. He is scheduled to work out for the Warriors in early June. Pace will look to earn a formal invitation to the team's preseason training camp in the fall when he works out for Golden State.

"The Miners organization couldn't be more excited for Josh Pace and the opportunity he has with the Golden State Warriors," said East Kentucky Miners Coach Kevin Keathley. "All of his hard work is definitely paying off."

Pace played for an East Kentucky Miners team that led the CBA in scoring during the 2007-08 campaign, averaging 110.6 points per game. The Warriors lead the NBA in scoring.

"Josh Pace is an ideal player for a team that gets up and down the basketball floor and puts a lot of points on the scoreboard," Keathley added. "He's a slasher-type player who finds his way to the basket."

Pace, a Syracuse University graduate, led the CBA in scoring during the 2007-08 season. The proven scorer averaged 23 points per game. A former New Zealand Player of the Year, Pace helped the Miners to a 26-22 regular-season record. Pace was also a member of the CBA American Conference All-Star team. During East Kentucky's debut season, Pace turned in back-to-back triple-double performances. He ended the season with a league-high three triple-doubles. The Georgia native was an All-CBA Second Team selection at the conclusion of the 2007-08 season.
