Former Brave Pitcher Looks to Fine Tune Music Rotation

Macon Music News Release
MACON, GA - "Independent baseball is designed to give players a 2nd chance. Whether it's a former big league player recovering from an injury or a college graduate trying to get his first chance, independent baseball gives them a chance to compete at a high level and hopefully get a shot at the major leagues," said Macon Music General Manager Ric Sisler.
Thursday the Macon Music signed former big league pitcher Damian Moss. Moss went 12-6 with a 3.42 ERA in 33 starts for the Braves in 2002. But after two more years in the big league with stints with the Giants, Orioles, and Devil Rays, Moss retired due to personal reasons at the age of 27.
The past few seasons Moss has been battling minor injuries while trying to get back in professional baseball.
"Picking up a guy like Damian is big for our club," said Music Manager Phil Plantier, "he has shown he can be competitive at the highest level in baseball. Now he is bringing his talents and experience to Macon and should be a good influence in the clubhouse."
Moss and the Music open up the season May 17 at Luther Williams Field against the Bradenton Juice. Tickets for opening night are on sale now and can be purchased by calling (478) 749-1819.
