
Former Blue Sox Player Mancini Shines in NYPL All-Star Game

NORWICH, CT - Two years ago, Trey Mancini was scorching baseballs for the Holyoke Blue Sox. Now, he is tearing up the New York-Penn League, garnering a start in the All-Star Game as a representative of the Aberdeen IronBirds, the Single-A affiliate of the Baltimore Orioles.
In 2011, Mancini played 41 games for the Blue Sox, batting .296 on 45 hits, including nine doubles and seven home runs, while driving in 34 and scoring 30 runs.
Drafted by the Orioles in the 8th round of the 2013 Draft, Mancini is batting .324 for the IronBirds, fourth best in the NYPL, on 58 hits in 179 at-bats, scoring 28 runs and adding 25 RBI. He went one for two in the All-Star Game, which the AL All-Stars won 4-3 at Dodd Stadium in Norwich.
