Former Bighorn Courtney Fortson Signs with Clippers

RENO, NEV.- The Los Angeles Clippers today signed former Reno Bighorns guard Courtney Fortson for the 15th GATORADE Call-Up of the 2011-12 NBA Development League season. Fortson joins 95 other NBA players with NBA D-League experience.

Fortson (5-11, 185, Arkansas) appeared in 17 games for the Los Angeles D-Fenders this season, averaging 15.9 points, 5.2 assists and 4.4 rebounds. He has scored in double digits 12 times, including an NBA D-League career high 30 points in a 104-97 win over the Mad Ants in Fort Wayne on Dec. 30.

Fortson played in six regular season games and two playoff games for the Bighorns last season, averaging 1.5 points and 0.7 assists per game.

Fortson, who rejoins the Clippers after a stint in the team's training camp in December, is expected to be available this afternoon when the team hosts the New Jersey Nets at the STAPLES Center.
