Former Arlington Bulldog Josh Washington Signs with the VFB 1900 Giessen Pointers of Germany

(Arlington, TX) - PRO B Club VFB Giessen Pointers of Germany signs Josh Washington for the upcoming season. Washington played for Coach Evans and the Bulldogs last season before signing to play with the Vancouver BC Titans of the Canadian-IBL.
"Josh Washington is the best shooter and one of the hardest workers I have ever coached," said Coach Aaron Evans, head coach of the Arlington Bulldogs. "He really works hard at his craft and it shows anytime he takes the court. I can recall times that he would come to practice after leaving the local 24 Hour Fitness, have a three hour practice and then get shots up after practice until we turned the gym lights out. Then, he would go back to the 24 Hour Fitness for a night cap. He is the true definition of a dedicated professional athlete."
Washington is no stranger to playing in Germany as he played for Erdgas Ehingen/Urspringschule (Germany-ProB, starting five): 15 games: 15.5ppg, 3.4rpg, 2.5apg, 1.5spg, 2FGP: 45.9%, 3FGP: 34.7%, FT-1 (90.5%) in the 2007-2008 season. Then in January of 2008 moved to BC CSKA Interlogic Sophia (Bulgaria-A1, starting five): 22 games: 15.7ppg, 2.3rpg, 1.2apg, 1.2spg, FGP: 51.6%, 3PT: 41.2%, FT: 78.4%.
Washington started his basketball career at Texas Tech (NCAA) playing there from 2002-2004 under legendary coach Bobby Knight. He then played at Texas A&M - C.C. (NCAA) from 2004-2007. In his senior year he played 32 games: 12.8ppg, 1.6rpg, 1.4apg, FGP: 49.6%, 3PTNCAA-5 (47.6%), FT: 87.0%.
