Philadelphia Force News Release
Allentown, Pa. - The Philadelphia Force have announced they have entered into a partnership with the Easton Area Academy to create an EPAL (pen pals using email) program. Co-owner Annie Wilson and Assistant General Manager Erin Statmore along with players Trena Peel, Stacy Birk, Jodie Cox, and Ashley Smith will correspond to the EAA students via email. The students will be open to discussion anything with the Force members from softball, to school, to life in general.
EAA's principal Greg Annoni sees this program as a chance for his students, mostly the girls, to have role models to look up to.
"To often the only sports models are males and girls have no one to look up to. This is initiative provides the girls with another influence who can listen, teach, and help offer support for them in all areas of school and life," said an excited Annoni. "On top of that, they will be able to meet these professional athletes which will help them appreciate the uniqueness of this endeavor," Annoni added.
Statmore is just as excited to enter this program as Annoni.
"Our players are great roles models and this is a great way for us to get involved with the school system during the off season," added Statmore.
