Force Sign Lock Haven's Kristin Erb

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. - Team Owner and General Manager Tom Kleinman is pleased to announce the signing of former Lock Haven University ace Kristin Erb.

A four year member of the Lock Haven softball pitching staff, Erb guided the Lady Eagles to their second Division II National Championship in four years just a few short weeks ago. Erb, who is a native of Reading, Pa. compiled quite the list of accomplishments throughout her amazing career. A multiple All-American, All-Region, and All-Conference selection, Erb will be a welcomed addition to an already solid Force bullpen.

The 2008 Daktronics and National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) Pitcher of the Year, Erb tallied an astonishing 50-5 record in '09. Her 0.47 ERA led the nation, while her 399 strikeouts in 356 innings pitched ranked her in the top 30 amongst all Division II pitchers. To date, Erb holds every career and single season pitching record with the Lady Eagles.

At the plate, Erb produced throughout her standout career. In 2009 she stepped into the batters box a total of 153 times in the 57 games played. She recorded 43 hits, 19 runs, five doubles, four home runs, and 29 RBI's. Defensively she led the team in assists with 140, and was responsible for 26 putouts, and only had one error to give her a fielding percentage of .994.

Erb will join her new teammates for their 2009 season opener in Chicago, when the Force takes on the defending NPF World Champion Bandits, starting on Wednesday at 8:05 p.m.
