Force Continues to Build Offensive Line
November 16, 2016 - Champions Indoor Football (CIF)
Wichita Force News Release
WICHITA, Kan. - The Wichita Force has announced the signing of rookie offensive lineman Travis Hening.
Hening, a native of Yukon, Oklahoma joins the Force after a standout collegiate career at East Central University in Oklahoma. In 5 seasons with the Tigers, Hening started 37 games and was named a Great American Conference All-Conference lineman 3 times. In 2014 Hening was named to the American Football Coaches Association All-America First Team, the highest honor for Division II lineman. That season Hening allowed just 1 sack of ECU quarterbacks in over 375 passing attemtps. In his Freshman season at ECU, Hening had a familiar opponent during practices in Force linebacker Jason Catchings, who was also named an All-American at ECU in 2012.
Hening most recently spent time in rookie minicamp with the Detroit Lions, and has worked out for several NFL teams including the Cardinals and Saints. At 6'6 and 325 lbs, Hening will bring size and athleticism to the Force offensive line. He joins returning Force starters Darrius Moore and Darren Marquez to form, what should be, one of the most dominant front lines in CIF.
Season tickets are now on sale and can be purchased online at www.selectaseat.com or by calling 316.425.3009. For the latest player signings and more information on the Force, visit www.wichitaforce.com, like the team on Facebook, or follow them on Twitter (@wichitaforce).
