Adirondack Phantoms News Release

The Philadelphia Flyers have agreed to free-agent contracts with 6-0, 192-lb left wing Michael Raffl and 6-3, 218-lb defenseman Maxim Lamarche, according to general manager Paul Holmgren.

Raffl, 24 (12/1/88), has spent the last two seasons playing for Leskands IF in Leskand, Sweden, which has been a member of the HockeyAllsvenskan, the country's second-highest professional league. He led Leksands IF with 24 goals and 46 points this past season as the team won the regular season championship and earned a promotion to the Swedish Elite League for 2013-14. Raffl's teammates on Leksands IF last season included former Flyer Mattias Timander and Nashville Predators prospect Filip Forsberg, the 11th overall selection in last year's NHL Entry Draft.

Raffl has played seven full seasons in Austria and Sweden, appearing in a total of 312 games. He has 101 goals and 100 assists for 201 career points, along with 305 PIM and a plus-63 rating.

Lamarche, 20 (7/11/92), comes to the Flyers organization from Baie-Comeau of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League. He recorded nine goals and 34 assists for 43 points in 55 games during the 2012-13 regular season, while posting a plus-31 rating. He helped the Drakkar to a berth in the QMJHL finals, where they lost to eventual Memorial Cup champion Halifax. Over four seasons in the QMJHL with Victoriaville and Baie-Comeau, Lamarche recorded 23 goals and 90 assists for 113 points in 252 games, along with 269 PIM.
