
Flyers Seeking Ballpark Musician For All 50 Home Dates This Summer

SCHAUMBURG, IL- The Schaumburg Flyers are seeking a stadium keyboard player for the upcoming 2002 baseball season. The chosen candidate will play organ-style music for fans as the fourth-year franchise offers live ballpark music for the first time this summer. Open auditions for the keyboardist position will be held on Saturday, May 4 at Alexian Field. Auditions will take place from 10 AM-4 PM. To register, please call (847) 891-2255. Pre-registration is required. âWalk-up' candidates will not be permitted to audition. Alexian Field is located just off the Elgin-O'Hare Expressway at 1999 Springinsguth Road, Schaumburg.
Each candidate will be required to play âTake Me Out To The Ballgame' and one personal selection on the stadium keyboard. Prospective players are solely responsible for obtaining required sheet music. A panel of Flyers staffers will evaluate each candidate. A celebrity judge from the Chicagoland music community will also participate. The Flyers prefer that the chosen candidate be available for all 50 home games.
SINGLE GAME TICKETS ON SALE SATURDAY
Tickets for all 50 home dates on the 2002 schedule will go on sale this Saturday, March 23 at 10 AM. Tickets will be available on-line at www.flyersbaseball.com, in person at the Alexian Field Ticket Office or by phone at (847) 891-2255. Full season ticket and flex plans are currently on sale six days a week at the stadium box office and by phone. Ticket Office hours are 10 AM-6 PM, Monday-Friday and 10 AM-3 PM, Saturdays.
The Flyers will open their fourth Northern League season on Thursday, May 23 when the Lincoln Saltdogs come to Schaumburg with ex-Cubs Jerome Walton and Manager Les Lancaster. The Opening Night game will begin at 7:20 PM.
NEW HIRES
The Flyers have recently added Angela Burg to the Ticket Office staff. Heather Taaka is the new receptionist at Alexian Field.
