
Florida State League Names Player and Pitcher of the Week

The Florida State League named today the Player and Pitcher of the Week for the period June 16 - June 22, 2014.
The Player of the Week was Fort Myers Miracle Infielder Jorge Polanco. He played in seven (7) games and had twelve (12) hits in 27 plate appearances for a .444 batting average. His hits included one (1) homerun, one (1) triple, and one (1) double. He had three (3) RBI's and scored four (4) runs. His OBP was .483 and his slugging average was .667. Jorge is in his fifth year of professional baseball and he resides in Santo Domingo, D.R.
The Pitcher of the Week was Fort Myers Miracle Right-Hander Jose Berrios for the second time this season. He started one (1) game, recorded a win with a 0.00 ERA. In seven (7) innings pitched he allowed one (1) hit, issued two walks, and struck out nine (9) batters. Jose is in his third year of professional baseball and resides in Bayamon, Puerto Rico.
