
Florida State League Names Player and Pitcher of the Week

The Florida State League named today the Player and Pitcher of the week for the period May 14 - May 20, 2012.
The Player of the week was Clearwater Threshers Infielder Carlos Alonso. He played in six games and collected 12 hits in 22 plate appearances. His hits included two homeruns and two doubles. He drove in 10 runs and scored five times. His batting average was .545, OBP was .583, and slugging was .909. Carlos is in his third year of professional baseball and he resides in Los Gatos, CA.
The Pitcher of the week was Charlotte Stone Crabs Left-Hander C.J. Riefenhauser. He started one game, appeared in a second game, and recorded two wins and posted a 0.00 ERA. In six and a third innings, he allowed three hits and did not issue a walk. He recorded 10 strikeouts. He is in his third year of professional baseball and was born in Mahopac, NY.
