Florida State League Names Pitcher and Player of the Week

The Florida State League today named the Player and Pitcher of the Week for the period August 27 - September 3, 2012.
The Player of the Week was Brevard County Manatees third baseman Mike Walker. In six games he had seven hits in 20 plate appearances for a .350 batting average. His hits included three homeruns and two doubles. He had seven RBI's and scored five runs. He also stole two bases. His OBP was .480 and his slugging average was .900. Mike is in his third year of professional baseball and resides in Marysville, CA.
The Pitcher of the Week was Palm Beach Cardinals Right-hander Chris Corrigan. He started one game, pitched a shutout, and recorded a win. He had a 0.00 ERA. In nine innings he no hit the Charlotte Stone Crabs. He struck out 9 batters. It was the first no-hitter in Palm Beach Cardinal History. Chris is in his fourth year of professional baseball and resides in Humble, TX.
