Florence Y'alls News Release

FLORENCE, KY - The Florence Y'alls (52-41) fell 6-4 to Lake Erie, splitting the four-game and 12-game season series with the Crushers.

Florence jumped on the board in the bottom of the second when Brendan Bobo connected on an opposite-field solo shot. The blast marked Bobo's 16th of the season, surpassing his total from his incredible rookie season in 2025.

With a seven-game homestand on hand, Florence sent LHP CJ Blowers for a spot start on Thursday night. After two scoreless frames, Blowers was tagged for four unearned runs in the third and one more in the fourth. The veteran lefty settled in for two more scoreless innings, but returned in the seventh and surrendered one more run. Blowers ended his night with six runs (two earned) on 11 hits across 6.1 innings.

The Y'alls added two more runs in the fifth, cutting Lake Erie's lead to 5-3. Zach Beadle roasted a deep sacrifice fly to score Cole Brannen, and Marcus Brodil singled to bring home Dillon Baker. Beadle came through again in the sixth with an RBI single to score Garrett Broussard, making it 5-4.

Down 6-4 in the seventh, Ryan Furey relieved Blowers and fired 1.2 scoreless innings in his first appearance out of the bullpen. John Costa entered in the ninth and loaded the bases but escaped the jam to give the offense one last chance.

Florence was mowed down by the back end of Lake Erie's pen and couldn't mount a comeback. The offense struck out 13 times and was outhit 15-8.

Florence continues their seven-game homestand on Friday when they open a three-game series with the Washington Wild Things. First pitch is set for 7:03 PM ET.
