Flippen working out with the NBA teams already
June 20, 2004 - American Basketball Association (ABA)
Atlanta Vision News Release
The ABA Gwinnett Gwizzlies center 7"4 John Flippen just signed a contract with the team last week and has not played one ballgame for the Gwizzlies, but has completed workouts with two NBA teams already.
This week Flippen will workout with the NBA San Antonio Spurs. Flippen said one of the teams general managers stated that if Flippen was in top shape he would sign him now.
"If NBA scouts are interested in Flippen now, they will be doing high fives when they see 6"8 guard Sam Cox dunk, shoot and defend," said Gwizzlies staffers. 6"3 Ardrell Hoard will have the NBA scouts on the edge as well. 7"0 Ned Rolsma and 6"6 Ian Hanovan and Jason Stewart will keep the scouts interested, too.
Note: OurSports Central no longer actively covers the American Basketball Association (ABA) as a professional league due in part to its inability to publish and play a schedule and the transitory nature of many of its teams.
