Chicago Rush News Release

January 29, 2003 – The Chicago Rush announced today it has placed WR/LB Lindsay Fleshman on the Arena Football League's Injured Reserve list with a broken hand. To take Fleshman's spot on the roster, the team claimed WR/LB Dale Koscielski off waivers from Los Angeles and signed him to a one-year contract.

The Rush also signed three players, OL/DL Curt Lessman, WR/DB Anthony Griffin and WR/DB Halakilangi Muagututia, to its 2003 practice squad. All three were with the team during training camp.

"Losing Fleshman is a tremendous loss for us in all three facets of our game – offense, defense and special teams," said Rush head coach Mike Hohensee. "He worked hard to earn the starting job in camp this year and we will miss him. We were lucky that Los Angeles decided to release Dale. He already knows our offense and defense and should be able to step right in and help us this week.

As a rookie during the 2002 season, Fleshman emerged as one of the team's most sure-handed receivers, catching 40 passes and scoring 14 touchdowns. On defense he tied for sixth on the Rush with 22 tackles.

Koscielski, a member of the Rush during the team's 2001 season, spent the 2002 season with the Los Angeles Avengers. The two-year veteran has played in 19 career AFL games, catching 33 passes and recording 43 tackles.

The Rush kicks off its 2003 AFL season Sunday, February 2, at Allstate Arena against the Orlando Predators. Fans wishing to purchase season tickets, starting at $64, should call the Rush at (877) Rush-Tix (787-4849) or visit the team's Web site at www.chicagorush.com.
