
Flash knock off #1 SETX

Gulf Coast Flash News Release
The Gulf Coast Flash knocked off the #1 SETX Mavricks 111-109 Tuesday evening in Gulfport.
The Flash jumped put to an early 14-point lead in the second quarter behind hot shooting from Courtney Brown, Terry Wade, and Freeman Taylor.
The Flash shot 61 percent in the first half.
SETX rallied to take a three-point lead at the end of the first half. Two administrative free throws gave the Mavricks a 58-53 halftime lead.
The third period saw the Flash even the score at 80-80 headed into the fourth.
In the fourth, the Flash took a six point lead with 5:54 to play, but SETX went on a 13-2 run to take a five-point lead with two minutes to play.
The Flash got layups from Taylor and Luther Suggs and trailed by three with 15 seconds to play.
The Flash fouled in the back coirt, but DeRon Rutledge of the Mavricks missed two free throws and the Flash got the rebound with 9.4 seconds to paly.
Suggs converted a driving layup and a fould gave him and the Falsh a three-point play and a 111-109 lead.
SETX missed a desperation three and the Flash won. The Flash improved their record to 5-1 on the season.
For SETX it was their first regular season loss in the past 20 games.
