Flames face must-win games on the road for playoff eligibility

Westchester Flames News Release
(New Rochelle, NY - 08/10/2004) - The Westchester Flames have backed themselves into a corner this week. Their momentary lapse on defense last Saturday, with only 16 seconds remaining, completely muddied the playoff waters of the Northern Division. New Hampshire, the Flames and Western Mass are now within three points of one another. Up first for the Flames is the makeup game with Harrisburg. Originally scheduled for July 23rd, the game was cancelled due to weather.
Harrisburg must get one point in their final two games to advance to the playoffs themselves. They face the Charlotte Eagles on Saturday. They would prefer to get it against the Flames, as Charlotte is one of the hottest teams in the league.
On Saturday, the Flames go north to take on the New Hampshire Phantoms, who have held first spot in the division for most of the season. A win by the Flames will knock the Phantoms out of the playoffs.
However, should all three teams be tied in points when the dust settles on Sunday, the Flames will be out of the playoffs. After total points and head to head (which is not applicable), the next tiebreaker is games won. In the three-way tie scenario, the Flames will have won the fewest games, and therefore be left out of the playoffs.
Thus the urgency for at least one win in their final two games.
