
Fire remain undefeated through first seven games

CHICAGO, IL - The Chicago Fire (2-0-5, 11 pts.) extended their undefeated streak to a club record seven games with a 1-1 tie against the Seattle Sounders FC (4-2-1, 13 pts.) at home in TOYOTA PARK tonight. After a scoreless first half, midfielder Marco Pappa recorded a goal for the Fire in the 68th minute of play. The Sounders answered just six minutes later as defender Tyrone Marshall finished on a corner kick from designated player Freddie Ljungberg. With the tie, the Fire sit in third place in the Eastern Conference, one point behind both Toronto FC and D.C. United. The Fire return to action on Saturday, May 9 against Eastern Conference rival New England Revolution at TOYOTA PARK (My50 Chicago, 7:30 p.m. CT).
