KISSIMMEE, Fla. - The Florida Fire Frogs and Charlotte Stone Crabs split their two games on Thursday at Osceola County Stadium, with Florida taking the continuation of game one, 5-4, and dropping the seven-inning contest, 13-4, to wrap up the two-game set.

The Fire Frogs rallied for two runs in the bottom of the sixth in the continued game from Wednesday night to tie the game at four apiece. Kurt Hoekstra (0x0, R, 2 BB) started the frame with a free pass against Reece Karalus (1-2), and came home to score two batters later when Brett Cumberland (0x3, R, RBI, BB) smoked a grounder past Robbie Tenerowicz at first. Two batters later, Garrison Scwhartz (2x4, RBI) brought home the trying run with a single to left-center.

Florida (4-9, 33-46) pushed the go-ahead run across in the seventh with a bases-loaded, RBI walk by Cumberland, scoring Ray-Patrick Didder (0x2, R, BB), who drew a free pass of his own to start the inning.

Jon Kennedy (5-4) worked four scoreless innings out of the bullpen, issuing two walks and striking out five in the winning effort.

The Fire Frogs could not carry the momentum over into the finale, as the Stone Crabs grabbed the early lead with an RBI double by Jesus Sanchez against Miguel Jerez (0-1).

The 20-year-old lefty allowed five runs on six hits, two walks and two strikeouts through three innings in his High-A debut.

Charlotte (6-8, 40-41) broke the game open with four runs in the fourth, and put the contest away with an eight-run eighth.

The home team managed to get runs in the fourth, sixth and seventh to finish out the night.

The Fire Frogs head to the road to take on the Palm Beach Cardinals for a three-game series at Roger Dean Chevrolet Stadium. RHP Jeremy Walker (2-8, 4.36) takes the mound in the opener on Friday night for Florida, while it has yet to be determined who will counter the right-hander for Palm Beach. First pitch is scheduled for 6:30 p.m.
