Final Home Game of Inaugural Season for Nighthawks

Knoxville, TN- Fans got to watch a spectacular football game tonight at the Civic Coliseum when the Knoxville Nighthawks (1-10) hit KBM Field for the last time this season to take on the Richmond Raiders (9-2).
The first half was complete domination by Nighthawks wide receiver Ryan Schuck. All four touchdowns scored in the first two quarters were scored by Schuck, which helped him to achieve the 80 total yards that he had.
Going into halftime, the Nighthawks lead the Raiders 28-21 and came out strong once again in the second half. However, the Raiders were able to rally back for the win after several calls that were not in favor of Knoxville and lead Richmond to score.
The 1400 fans in attendance were heavily involved with tonight's game letting the officials know exactly how they thought some of the calls should have gone, pumping up the players, and celebrating how much the team has improved from the last time they faced the Raiders.
"Our fans are truly amazing. They have had our back through thick and thin this season and I know that the players have really enjoyed that. It is incredibly encouraging for the guys to come into a tough game and know that the fans will be there to cheer them on no matter what, "said Nighthawks Head Coach Chris MacKeown.
Nighthawks quarterback Russell Hill ended the game with 260 yards and 7 touchdowns.
"Russell played a wonderful game and made some great throws to Schuck, Ryan McDaniel, and Justin Craig. We felt like we had the win. Sometimes certain things just do not fall in our favor but we are not going to let it get us down. We still have a game next week in Columbus and tomorrow we will start our preparation to play them," said MacKeown.
Last week's Special Teams Player of the Week, Nighthawks Kicker Alex Walls, had another good night by hitting all 6 point after touchdowns and his one field goal attempt.
The game was a highly intense match-up with constant action. Despite Richmond winning 60-57, the Nighthawks played hard and held the lead the majority of the game.
Nighthawk fans will have to wait till next season to watch them play again at the Civic Coliseum but they still have one more game next week in Columbus, Georgia. Fans will be able to listen to the game live on Tennessee Sports Radio 1180 or on their app for Android and Apple. There will be a player meet and greet for fans and media at Old City Entertainment on Thursday, June 14th from 7-9pm.
