August 16, 2009 - Northern League (NL)
Schaumburg Flyers News Release
SCHAUMBURG, IL-Despite the heroic efforts of the Alexian Field groundscrew, today's game against the Kansas City T-Bones was canceled due to rain. Over 7,000 Flyers fans waited it out as long as they could before heading home.
Today's game was going to be the third and final home game against the T-Bones, so it will be made up in Kansas City on Tuesday at 6:00pm as part of doubleheader at Community America Ballpark. Those games, along with Wednesday's game in Kansas City, can be heard on flyersbaseball.com.
Fans who had a ticket to today's game can call the ticket office at 847-891-2255 to redeem today's ticket for any of the remaining home games. The Flyers have four home games left, as the Winnipeg Goldeyes come to town for a four-game series starting Thursday, August 20th.
The Flyers have great promotions for next weekend's final home series. Thursday night is the final "Thirsty Thursday" of the season, brought to you by Miller. Friday night will be the last fireworks night of the season following the game at Alexian Field. Saturday is Star Wars night with post-game band "One 2 Many" brought to you by Miller. And Sunday is the final regular season home game at Alexian Field. It will be Family Day as kids can run the bases and get autographs from their favorite Flyers after the game.
