Field narrows in NWFA playoffs

The National Women's Football Association's second round of playoffs ended with two time defending world Champions, the Detroit Demolition beating the Columbus Comets by the score of 41-23. The Demolition now heads to Washington, DC for a match up with the DC Divas this coming Saturday, July 17th. "This will be a really great Northern Conference battle since The Demolition and Divas have never played each other before. we expect it to be a very hard fought and close game," states league CEO, Catherine Masters.

In the Southern Conference the World Championship runner up, the Pensacola Power rolled over the undefeated Chattanooga Locomotion winning by the score of 35-20. The Oklahoma City Lightning pulled out all stops and beat the Kansas City Krunch 21-7. The Power now travels to Oklahoma City to take on the Lightning on Saturday, July 17th as well. "Both of these teams have proven they can win and we think this is also going to be a really exciting game," adds league VP, Debby Lening.

The winners of this weekend's game will come to Louisville, Kentucky for the 2004 Dickens Energy Cider Women's Pro Football Championship on Saturday, July 31. The game will be held at the Papa John Cardinal Stadium with kick off at 7:00pm.
