FHL Free Agent Tryout Camp Comes to Danbury in July

The Federal Hockey League is proud to announce that the league's Annual Free Agent Tryout Camp will take place July 24th - 27th (Thursday - Sunday) in Danbury, Connecticut. As the FHL is entering into its 5th season, this marks the first time the league camp has been held in Danbury.

The FHL Free Agent Camp is open to all players over the age of 20. Player candidates are asked to fill out a bio form online and complete the registration. Cost to attend the camp is $285.

The camp will feature coaches and representatives from each FHL organization. Players will compete in games and run through drills. The highlight of the camp will be the Saturday night doubleheader of games. The entire camp is open to the public with the Saturday game action a $5 admission.

Upon completion of the camp on Sunday, the FHL will hold a draft for the participating players. Teams will select players from this camp and sign them to Tryout Agreements (PTO's) for Training Camp in October.

Last season's draft featured 16 players selected over four rounds, three of which were the FHL's co-Rookie of the Year - Ryan Patsch (Danbury), Watertown's Captain & GM Kris McCarthy, and Danville's Roman Andrejev who went on to play 25 games in the FHL and 23 in the SPHL.

Players who are not drafted will have the opportunity to sign PTO's with teams and receive Training Camp invitations.

Hotel rooms are available and can be reserved through the FHL at $50 per night.

The Federal Hockey League is one of six professional leagues in the United States. The FHL has promoted over 150 players to various other professional leagues including the AHL, ECHL, CHL, & European Leagues. The FHL currently has teams located in Danbury (CT), Dayton (OH), Watertown (NY), Danville (IL), and Western Pennsylvania. Last season over 100,000 fans watched FHL action live.
