Fever Coach Receives "Coach of the Year" Honors

Kennewick WA - Fever Head Coach, Dan Whitsett, has had an amazing year. After taking over the Head Coaching duties before the third game of the NIFL season, he led the Fever as they won the Indoor Bowl V title. Coach Whitsett then led Tri-Cities Prep to an 8 - 2 season where they finshed second in their division and have three players receiving All State recognition. Tri-Cities Prep plays eight man football under the states B-8 classification. With the 2004 Prep football season being the first year Whitsett coached at Tri-Cities Prep he led them to their first winning season where they finished 5 - 4.

Following on the heals of his winning year Coach Whitsett has been named "Coach of the Year" in two different categories, Division 9 High School Football "Coach of the Year" and WashingtonPreps.com B-8 "Coach of the Year". Whitsett is also nominated for a third award, Washington State Coaches Association (WSCA) "Coach of the Year". He will be attending a banquet in Bellevue on January 14th where he will receive the Division 9 award and the winner of the WSCA honors will be announced.
