Hill's Hat Trick Dashes Danville's Winning Streak

Jason Hill's hat trick propelled the Dayton Demonz to a 7-4 victory over the Danville Dashers snapping the Dashers 4 game winning streak.

Luke Flicek scored the only goal of the first period on the first shift of the game rifling a wrist shot through the pads of Danville goalie Justin Sand.

A barrage of penalties for the Dashers in the second period allowed the Demonz to tally four straight goals. Seth Ronsberg and Hill scored power play tallies to make it 3-0. Those two would again connect for tallies 45 seconds a part late in the frame to give Dayton a 5-0 lead.

Mike Hoban continued the scoring in the third period helping Dayton extend their lead to 6 goals.

The Dashers stormed back, however as Billy Hunt scored two goals in 15 seconds to cut the lead to 4. Lee McClure scored at the 9:36 mark on shot the went over the Dayton netminder Jeff Rose's shoulder. Shawn McNulty potted a goal at 10:25 in the frame to give the Dashers some hope.

Hill completed his hat trick on an empty net goal to seal the game at 7-4.

Smyth Continues Hot Streak In Outlaws Win

WILLIAMSPORT, PA - Matt Smyth entered tonight's game against the Danbury Whalers with 29 goals in 28 regular season games, as well as, 13 goals in his last 12 periods. After tonight, he has scored 31 goals in 29 regular season games and 15 goals in his last 15 periods of hockey as the Williamsport Outlaws topped the Danbury Whalers 5-3 at Airmen Pond at Historic Bowman Field.

The Outlaws jumped out to a 2-0 lead over the Whalers in the first period, getting goals from Brett Needham at the 8:10 mark of the period. Chris Leveille was credited with the assist. Smyth would score his 30th goal of the season at the 11:50 mark of the period. Trevor Karasiewicz and Anthony Battaglia were credited with the assists.

Danbury would tie the game in the second period with back to back goals, the first coming on the power play by Richard Vanderhoek at the 7:07 mark, assisted by Andrew Willock. The tying goal came from Mike Atkinson at the 9:02 mark, assisted by Toms Tilla and Tyler Noseworthy.

Smyth would score his 31st of the season on a break away at the 13:02 mark to give the Outlaws a 3-2 lead after two periods of play, assists coming from Karasiewicz and Kevin Hamel.

Marty Moucha made it 4-2 in favor of the Outlaws with a goal at the 2:21 mark, assist going to Matt Puntureri. Danbury would cut into the lead with a goal at the 3:50 mark from Mike Atkinson on the power play. Assist coming from Vanderhoek.

Karasiewicz would seal the victory with a 195' goal with Mike Brown out of the net to seal the 5-3 Outlaws win to end the 2012 calendar year for the Outlaws.
