FCE Preview: vs Jacksonville Armada FC

JACKSONVILLE, FL (April 2, 2015) - At long last the FC Edmonton 2015 North American Soccer League (NASL) season is about to get underway. The Eddies will be starting off their fifth season in the NASL with a match against new-comers Jacksonville Armada FC in Jacksonville, Florida (5:30 p.m. KO MT).

"We've spoken to the group from day one of training camp of what our expectations are," said FC Edmonton's head coach Colin Miller. "All those expectations start on Saturday. Everyone has been so keen and they deserve every bit of praise they get because they've been working really hard to get ready for the season."

The Eddies were able to end 2014 on a high just narrowly missing out on a post-season position, but now that the Edmonton-side have gotten a taste of victory and there's no turning back this season.

"We were almost dead in the water last season," said Miller. "But in the Fall, we gained a sense of belief and a winning mentality that we now need to take to every 45 minutes we play."

The visiting Eddies will have more than just a new team to play against, with the Armada FC pushing for record breaking crowds, and with this match being their inaugural match in the league, there will be plenty of external forces against FC Edmonton.

"Jacksonville Armada FC are expecting the largest crowd in modern NASL history on Saturday, and I'm hoping for the most disappointed largest crowd in modern NASL history," said Miller. "The team played at EverBank Field last week, we know the stadium, so there will be no surprises. We'll stay focused for 90 minutes."

FC Edmonton fans can watch the match at Edmonton Delta South Hotel where the Eddies will be hosting their 2015 Season Launch Party. Come to watch FC Edmonton play against Jacksonville Armada FC and also meet some of the players, staff and other FC Edmonton fans!

Tickets are also available for FC Edmonton's Canadian Tire Home Opener next weekend on Sunday, April 12 (2:00 p.m. MT KO). The Eddies will kick off their home campaign against the Carolina RailHawks at Clarke Field. The first 2,000 fans will receive a promotional FC Edmonton & Canadian Tire Home Schedule magnet upon entering Clarke Field and a special offer from A&W upon exit.
