VICTORIA, BC (June 30, 2014) - After a convincing win against a Kamloops All-Star squad, FC Edmonton are keen to test their skills against an impressive Victoria Highlanders FC team on Wednesday, July 2 on the University of Victoria campus at Centennial Stadium (7p.m. MT KO).

Victoria Highlanders FC is a Canadian soccer club in the United Soccer Leagues (USL) Premier Development League (PDL) and Pacific Coast Soccer League (PCSL). The Highlanders began PDL play in April 2009. In the 2014 season, Victoria finished second out of eight teams in their division and qualified for a playoff position. They have qualified for the playoffs the last three out of four seasons.

"I'm over the moon that we managed to get this fixture," said FC Edmonton head coach Colin Miller. "It will be a real test for us on Wednesday and the players are well warned. I know the quality of the Victoria team and it's a first class organization. Hopefully we can put on a good show and be one step closer to our NASL Fall Season opener on July 13 against Ottawa Fury FC."

This will be the second time FC Edmonton has visited Victoria following a home-and-home exhibition series in 2010 that also saw the visiting clubs including Portsmouth FC and Colo-Colo.

FC Edmonton travel to Langley, BC on Thursday, July 4 ahead of the club's final preseason match against the Seattle Sounders on July 6 (3pm PT KO).
