
FC Tulsa Moves on the Round of 16 for the First Time After Defeating Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC 1-0

Pittsburgh, PA - For the first time in franchise history, FC Tulsa will move on to the Round of 16 in the U.S. Open Cup after defeating Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC 1-0.
The most action in the first 80 minutes came in the 57 minute as Milo Yosef shot one in from a corner kick, but was quickly called offside.
Majority of the match saw both sides competing back and forth, but none were able to capitalize.
Until FC Tulsa was hungry for the goal. The lone goal came as Midfielder Justin Portillo mastered a corner kick that was rebounded in the air multiple times. Forward Phillip Goodrum got his right foot on it as Forward Alex Dalou assisted by putting the ball in Goodrum's position.
The ball traveled to the right side of the goal hitting the net close to the pole and bouncing off to cross the goal line.
The lone goal sealed the deal for FC Tulsa in the Round of 32 against Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC.
FC Tulsa will be moving on to the Round of 16 for the first time in franchise history ushering in much of the new era from this season's FC Tulsa club. It was also the club's first time defeating Pittsburgh as the previous head to head record was Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC 3 wins, FC Tulsa 0 wins, and 1 draw.
FC Tulsa will take on the winner of the Union Omaha and Sporting Kansas City match which is tomorrow, Wednesday, May 8. The Round of 16 matches will take place May 21-22.
