FC Tucson News Release
TUCSON, Ariz. - FC Tucson forward Jordan Jones was named to the USL League One Team of the Week for Week 16 of the 2019 USL League One season the league announced today.
Jones registered his third goal of the season last Saturday in the club's 2-2 draw against Lansing Ignite FC. The 6-foot-2 striker was awarded a chance from the spot in the 50th minute as a result of a handball inside of the box. Jones delivered the equalizer for FC Tucson and secured a tough road point for Tucson.
It's the second consecutive week Jones has been named to the team of the week and he becomes the first player in the club's professional era to be named to the team of the week in back-to-back weeks.
FC Tucson will be back in action on Saturday, July 20th, when the club travels to Greenville, South Carolina, to take on Greenville Triumph SC. It will be the first meeting between the two sides. Kickoff is set for 4:00 P.M. and the match will be streamed via ESPN+.
