FC Kansas Partners with Football for the World Foundation

July 12, 2017 - National Women's Soccer League (NWSL)
FC Kansas City News Release

KANSAS CITY - As fans gather to watch FC Kansas City play the North Carolina Courage on July 22, 2017, the Blues will be partnering with the Football for the World Foundation (FFTW) to help girls around the world play the beautiful game.

Football for the World Foundation works with schools, sports clubs, community groups, individuals and corporations to improve the quality of life of children through the game of football. Using the game as a tool, FFTW empowers, equips, educates and helps children excel on and off the field through its flagship programs: Equipment, Environment and Development.

Inspired by Matt Briggs, current assistant coach for FC Kansas City, the partnership began to address the issues preventing girls from playing football around the world. Donations raised at the game will primarily support girls education and soccer development in Kenya and Jamaica.

FFTW and FC Kansas City will be hosting a charity 50/50 raffle at the July 22nd game. Fans can stop by the FFTW table on the concourse or find a volunteer during the game to purchase a raffle ticket. FFTW will also collect donations of soccer gear at the gate. Acceptable items include: cleats, socks, shorts, jerseys, shin guards, keeper gear and soccer balls.

FFTW Board Members will also be honored during a halftime presentation for their hard work and dedication in improving children's lives around the world through football.

The game kicks off at 7:00 p.m. CT at Swope Soccer Village, but fans are encouraged to come early as FFTW will be hosting a free tailgate party in conjunction with the normal fan tailgate before every home game.
