
FC Kansas City Starts Home-And-Home Series

KANSAS CITY - FC Kansas City hits the road to take on the Chicago Red Stars in the first of two matches this week. The game will be played at 7 p.m. CT at Toyota Park and shown on FOX Sports 1.
The Blues will need to win both matches against the Red Stars to keep their playoff hopes alive. Chicago is ranked third in the NWSL with an 8-4-5 record. The Blues are in eighth place with a 5-8-4 record.
FC Kansas City rallied for its first comeback victory on Sunday to defeat Sky Blues FC 2-1 at Swope Soccer Village. Tiffany McCarty scored the equalizer just before the half and Yael Averbuch converted her fourth free kick of the season to give the Blues the lead.
Chicago also faced a deficit and came back to tie Seattle Reign FC 2-2. Christen Press and Sophia Huerta scored in the game.
The Blues are finally back to full-strength with four Olympians back on the field. Canadian Desiree Scott was the last to return after taking a week to celebrate her bronze medal with her family in Manitoba. Americans Becky Sauerbrunn and Heather O'Reilly as well as New Zealand's Katie Bowen also played in the 2016 Rio Olympic Games.
FC Kansas City will host one more match at home when the Chicago Red Stars finalize the series on Sunday. The game will be at 5 p.m. at Swope Soccer Village.
