The Blues climbed out of last place in the National Women's Soccer League standings with a 2-0 victory against the Orlando Pride before the FIFA Break. Four FC Kansas City players joined their respective National Teams for friendlies ahead of the Rio Olympic Games.
The Orlando victory was the first of the season for the two-time defending champions, who are now 1-4-2 with five points.
Sky Blue FC enters the match with a 2-3-2 record. Most recently, Sky blue played the Chicago Red Stars to a draw on the road.
This match will be a homecoming of sorts for New Jersey natives Heather O'Reilly, Yael Averbuch and Brianne Reed.
FC Kansas City made a trade on Thursday that sent back-up goalkeeper Katelyn Rowland to the Western New York Flash in exchange for two second-round 2017 NWSL College Draft picks.
