FC Edmonton to Require Vaccination Verification at Future Home Matches

September 13, 2021 - Canadian Premier League (CPL) - FC Edmonton News Release

EDMONTON, AB - FC Edmonton of the Canadian Premier League (CPL) will soon begin requiring fans attending matches to verify full vaccination status or verify a negative result from a COVID-19 test before entering the stadium, the club announced today.

In line with fellow CPL clubs and with other local teams, venues and events that have recently made similar announcements, the club made the decision to begin a similar process in an effort to provide a level of comfort and safety to fans attending matches at Clarke Stadium in the wake of the increase in the COVID-19 Delta variant and the risk that attending public events poses.

The measure will take effect starting on the September 29 match versus Cavalry FC.

"We felt we must do our part and join fellow organizations that have already moved to having this process in place," said Eric Newendorp, club President and General Manager. "We have been discussing it for quite a while. And we have been working together with our partners at the City on processes and logistics at Clarke Stadium. In the end we want everyone to both feel safe and be safe coming to our soccer matches. We also want to play a lead role in helping to keep any more Edmontonians from getting sick with this devastating virus."

All FC Edmonton front office staff, game day staff, stadium staff and event staff will be required to follow the same measures when working home matches. As policies become finalized, the club will release additional details for fans to know what to expect before coming to the stadium.

Pro-rated Season Seat Memberships, and individual game tickets are on sale now. For a complete schedule, and for more information about plans and prices please visit, or call 780-700-2600.
