FC Edmonton News Release

EDMONTON, AB - FC Edmonton has signed defender Paris Gee to a contract for the 2021 season, the club announced today.

Born and raised in Burnaby, British Columbia, Gee (5'10, 165 pounds) developed in the Vancouver Whitecaps FC youth system before playing one season of collegiate soccer with the Simon Fraser University Clan in 2012.

He signed a professional contract in Croatia with NK Rudes and played two seasons with that club before signing with United Soccer League (USL) side Tulsa Roughnecks FC. Gee made his debut with that club in March of 2017 as a substitute in the 74th minute in a 4-1 win over the Colorado Springs Switchbacks. After appearing in 19 games for the Tulsa in 2017, Gee re-signed with the club for the 2018 season.

Gee joined the USL's Saint Louis FC for their 2019 season, and returned for an additional season with the club in 2020. With St. Louis City CS being approved as an expansion club in Major League Soccer (MLS) to start play in 2023, Saint Louis FC ceased operations at the conclusion of this past season, leaving Gee as a free agent.

"It is incredibly exciting to be able to reunite with Paris in Canada again after both of us having forged different professional journeys over the last few years," said Head Coach Alan Koch.

Koch continued, "Paris is an incredibly versatile player that can play both as a full-back and in the midfield.

He has the technical ability to play the way we want to play this coming season and I believe his experience in Tulsa and most recently with Saint Louis FC will help significantly as he enters the CPL. I look forward to integrating him into our group as quickly as possible in this coming pre-season, and working with him to take his game to another level."

The 26-year-old returns home to Canada to play professionally for the first time in his career with the Eddies.
