
FC Edmonton Re-Signs Marcus Velado-Tsegaye

EDMONTON, AB - FC Edmonton has re-signed midfielder Marcus Velado-Tsegaye, the club announced today.
The re-signing comes after the club made the decision to exercise its option to retain Velado-Tsegaye, in accordance with the terms of his 2020 contract.
Velado-Tsegaye (5'7" and 139 pounds) joined the FC Edmonton Academy in 2016 following stints with youth clubs Xtreme FC, Edmonton Drillers, and Edmonton Victoria. He was also a member of the Academy squad which won the Edmonton & District Soccer Association Men's Premier Division title and Provincial Men's Premier Championship in 2018.
At just 19 years old, Velado-Tsegaye finished third in goals during the EDSA Premier League Season 11 and appeared four times in the 2020 Island Games, logging in 247 minutes. He is currently in El Salvador training with their national team.
