EDMONTON, AB - FC Edmonton re-signs defender Ramon Soria, the club announced today.

Born and raised in Alicante, Spain, Soria (5'9, 170 pounds) is a product of the Villareal youth system. Soria developed with several lower-level Spanish Clubs before spending time briefly in Norway.

Soria was one of the Ottawa Fury FC's first signings prior to them joining the NASL for the 2014 season. Following his stint in Canada, he then played for a club in Slovenia and Puerto Rico FC, before spending 2018 in his native Spain with SD Formentera. Soria has nine caps with the Spanish U-17 National Team and was a part of the 2006 UEFA U-Championship Squad, which finished third.

"We are excited to welcome Ramon back to the club", said Head Coach Alan Koch. "His experience and leadership will be especially important to the team as we prepare ourselves for a new system of play and the next CPL season. His technical ability in the build up phase and service on set-pieces will be crucial to the success of the team."

This will be the third season with the Eddies for the 31-year-old, in which he has made (32) appearances, (1) goal and (3) assists. Most recently, Soria clocked 630 minutes in the CPL Island Games.
