FC Edmonton owner Tom Fath has been awarded the Claude Alston Award, one of the most prestigious honours in construction, in recognition of his contributions to the Edmonton construction industry and community by the Edmonton Construction Association (ECA).
Fath was presented the award at the 2017 Builders Connect Luncheon, February 10 at the Edmonton Expo Centre.
"It is great to see our co-owner Tom Fath recognized by Edmonton's construction industry," FC Edmonton general manager Jay Ball remarked. "Tom is a leader in the business community and a pioneer in the construction industry. No one is more deserving of this award and everyone in the FC Edmonton organization congratulates Tom on this achievement."
The Claude Alston Award is the ECA's highest honour. It is given only when a person from the local construction industry demonstrates outstanding service and contribution to the Edmonton construction industry. The Board of Directors of the Edmonton Construction Association created the award in 1975 and named it after the one of the associations founders and greatest contributors. It has been awarded every year since 1975.
Tom Fath started working at O'Hanlon Paving in 1968 and by 1989 had become President of the company. Tom's brother Dave grew up in the company as well and is now the Vice President and heads up Fath Industries. The Fath Group of companies got its start in 1990 with the Fath family owning 100-percent of O'Hanlon Paving and Fath Industries.
