EDMONTON, AB - FC Edmonton announced, Dec. 2, the re-signing of Daryl Fordyce as well as Sainey Nyassi, pending league approval. As per club policy, terms of the deals were not disclosed.

Fordyce, 28, returns for his fourth season with FC Edmonton. The Northern Ireland native was a major contributor down the stretch for the Eddies in 2015, eclipsing former Eddie Shaun Saiko to become the club's all-time leading scorer with 25 goals across all competition. The six-foot veteran joins Newcastle's Tomi Ameobi, FC Edmonton product Sadi Jalali and New York native Jake Keegan up front for the Eddies' 2016 campaign.

"I'm absolutely thrilled that Daryl has re-signed with us," FC Edmonton head coach Colin Miller said. "Both he and Albert [Watson] have been terrific players for the club and Daryl has now become the top scorer in the club's history which is a fantastic accomplishment, given the fact that at times I have had to play him out of position. He's a genuine, football-minded person, thinks a lot about the game, trains well, is an excellent professional and a great example for our younger players."

Nyassi, 26, appeared in 25 matches for the Eddies last season across all competition, contributing four goals and earning an NASL Player of the Week selection during the North American Soccer League (NASL) Spring Season. Nyassi was one of several Eddies to earn a call-up to his national team during the season, competing for his home country of Gambia in Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

"We really wanted Sainey to stay," Miller added. "We worked hard with Sainey to get him fit, to get him over his knee injury... he's a quality person and he appreciated that the club stood by him when he was injured and he worked very hard to get his fitness back. You saw in the last few games the quality Sainey has, he could be one of the most potent wide midfield players in the NASL if he gets a good run."
