Erie Freeze News Release

The colder than expected weather on the shores of Lake Erie serve as a reminder that the Erie area's newest professional sports team, the Erie Freeze of the Atlantic Indoor Football League, are gearing up for the 2005 season.

Beginning Friday, March 12 and running through training camp in April, Freeze fans will have a chance to meet players and members of the organization at various locations in the Erie area.

On Friday night, the Freeze will partner with the playoff-bound Erie Otters hockey team for the first of three dates with the club. Freeze head coach Mike Esposito and members of the Freeze organizations will be available to meet the public and relay information about the club at the Otters' promotional booth. The Freeze will also be in attendance at games Wednesday, March 16 against the Owen Sound Attack, and Saturday, March 19 when the Otters take on the Saginaw Spirit.

The public is welcome to attend an appearance by the Erie Freeze's talented Dance Team, the "Chillers", from noon-3 p.m. at the Millcreek Mall, located at 5800 Peach Street in Erie.

Saturday, April 9, the Millcreek Mall will once again host the Freeze as they prepare for the team's season opener April 16 in Johnstown, PA. Freeze players will be available to meet fans, take pictures and sign autographs from 1-4 p.m.

The Erie Freeze kickoff the 2005 season April 16 in Johnstown, PA. The Freeze open its home schedule April 23 at 7 p.m. in Tuillio Arena against Richmond.
