"Wild About Reading," presented by the National Parks Conservation Association (NPCA) and Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E), reached more than 71,000 Valley students in 2011, and utilizes the fun and excitement of Grizzlies baseball as an incentive to promote reading. Entering its ninth year, the "Wild About Reading" program has set an aggressive goal of challenging 100,000 students to read one million books in 2012. Beginning in December, Grizzlies staff and Parker will read and act out "Parker Goes on Vacation," a humorous children's book that touches on themes of energy conservation and environmental stewardship. Each student will be challenged to read 10 books in five weeks to earn two free tickets to a 2012 Grizzlies game at Chukchansi Park. Parker and the Grizzlies staff will visit students in Fresno, Kings, Madera, Mariposa, and Merced counties.

The San Joaquin Valley Winegrowers Association (SJVWA) represents the interests of the Winegrowers and Wine of California's largest viticultural region. The SJVWA exists to improve and promote the Valley industry through the mechanism of its most notable appellation: California. Membership is based upon growers of winegrapes in the San Joaquin Valley, wineries, and those associates who have a stake in the continued prosperity of California's largest wine production area. The Association brings together growers from Stockton to Bakersfield interested in showing the world the quality of wine delivered from the family owned vineyards in the world's most perfectly natural winegrape production area.

The Fresno Grizzlies open their 2012 home season against the Tacoma Rainiers on Friday, April 13th. Season tickets for 2012 are available now with 12-game mini-plans starting as low as $84.
