Exciting action continues at ABA Summer Pro League

Published on August 16, 2005 under American Basketball Association (ABA) News Release

Westchester, CA. Four teams competed with high-scoring, fast-paced professional basketball at the ABA Summer Pro League in Westchester, California as players get set for the upcoming ABA season that begins in November.

After an opening loss, the ABA Inglewood Cobras rebounded with a 130-128 win over a tough Pasadena Express team. Then, the ABA Los Angeles Aftershock had too many answers for the ABA Orange County Buzz and won 120-105. Both games featured the exciting ABA rules including 3-D, basketball's most exciting rule that awards an extra point for a basket scored on a turnover in the backcourt, as well as many fast breaks and amazing 3-point shooting. According to Sean Higgins, ABASPL organizer and owner of the Inglewood Cobras, "Fans are really beginning to understand how talented these players are. They are very athletic, very fast, play both ends of the court, and they can shoot the lights out. Are they NBA calibre? When you see guys like Clay Tucker, Maurice Spillers, Nick Sheppard, Jamar Cramer, Herb Gibson, Cole Miller, Terryl Woolery, Jae Jun, Dustin Ensley, James Hunt, Thomas Blunt and the others playing their hearts out as they do in the summer league, you wonder why they are not in the NBA. They're fabulous players as fans will see this fall when the ABA begins its 2005 season."
