ABA 2006-07 market reservations now being accepted
August 16, 2005 - American Basketball Association (ABA) News Release
Indianapolis, IN. The American Basketball Association (ABA) announced that it is now accepting market reservations for the 2006-2007 season. According to Joe Newman, ABA CEO, "The league will be publishing its 2005-2006 schedule this week. We are 'good to go.' Once again this season, we have had excellent growth with many new cities added to last year's teams."
Markets already reserved for the 2006-2007 season include Houston TX, Minneapolis/St. Paul MN, Ontario CA, Ventura County CA, Lake Charles LA, Vancouver CN, Chicago IL, Washington DC, Wilmington DE, New Orleans LA, San Antonio TX and Oklahoma City OK.
Newman added, "There are still some great markets available and our goal is to continue expansion until we fill in some regional/divisional gaps. Some excellent cities that are open include Reno NV, San Diego CA, Charleston SC, Pensacola FL, Tampa FL, Columbia SC, Wichita KS as well as teams in Iowa, Colorado, Oregon, Michigan, Wisconsin, New England, Texas, and of course, more teams in Canada and Mexico. We believe we've put together the best business model/marketing plan in professional sports. If you'd like more information about owning an ABA team or becoming part of an existing ownership group, please go to Reserve a Market on the ABA website, www.abalive.com, and complete the form.
Note: OurSports Central no longer actively covers the American Basketball Association (ABA) as a professional league due in part to its inability to publish and play a schedule and the transitory nature of many of its teams.
