April 5, 2002 - American Basketball Association (ABA)
Southern California Surf News Release

ANAHEIM, Ca – The Southern California Surf made their final roster moves on Wednesday, April 3rd, picking up forward Anthony Evans and guard Kyle Crawford. To make room on the 11 man roster the Surf released forwards Eric Maye and Tony Martin and moved Richard Mandeville to the injured reserved list retroactive to March 30th.

Previously playing for the Phoenix Eclipse, Evans averaged 14 points and nine rebounds. To acquire Evans, a 6-8 power forward, Southern California traded the rights to their 2002 first round draft pick to Phoenix.

Kyle Crawford is a 6-0 point guard from North Texas University. He is known as a defensive stopper with great athleticism, possessing a 38-inch vertical leap.

These were the last roster moves for the Surf this season, as the 2002 ABA playoffs are set to begin Wednesday, April 10th at the Anaheim Convention Center.
