ESPN's Groundbreaking Coverage Of AFL Nominated For Emmy
March 14, 2008 - Arena Football League (1987-2008) (AFL I) News Release
NEW YORK - ESPN's ground-breaking coverage of the AFL has been nominated for an Emmy in the "Live Sound" category. The AFL provides ESPN with unprecedented behind-the-scenes access to locker rooms, players and coaches, allowing the network to produce compelling content so that viewers gain insight from the player's perspective, as if they were actually in the huddle.
This weekend, the Dallas Desperados (2-0) look to become the fourth team in AFL history to win 14 consecutive at home when they host the Colorado Crush (1-0) on Russell Athletic ESPN Arena Football Monday, March 17, at 8 p.m. ET (ESPN2 HD, ESPN360.com).
With a win, Dallas will tie the 2001-03 and current San Jose SaberCats who each won 14 consecutive home contests. San Jose (1-1) hosts the Arizona Rattlers (1-1) on Saturday, March 15, at 10:30 p.m. ET (FSN Arizona - Delay at 10:30 p.m. PT, FSN Bay Area - 3/16, at 11:30 a.m. PT) and can increase its home winning streak to 15 games. The 1992-95 Orlando Predators hold the record for most consecutive home wins with 19.
