ESPN to Televise MLL's All-Star Game on ESPN2 or ESPNNews Thursday Night
June 27, 2018 - Major League Lacrosse (MLL) News Release
BOSTON - Major League Lacrosse (MLL) today announced that ESPN will televise the 2018 MLL All-Star Game live on Thursday, June 28, 2018 on ESPN2 or ESPNEWS, beginning at 7 p.m. ET. MLL's top athletes will compete against Team USA as they prepare for the FIL World Lacrosse Championships in Netanya, Israel in July 2018. This MLL All-Stars vs. Team USA competition happens only once every four years and is always one of the most exciting, competitive matches of the season.
ESPN will also broadcast the MLL Championship game on Saturday, August 18 on ESPNEWS.
"MLL is thrilled to work with ESPN for live coverage of this year's All-Star Game and Championship game," said Alexander Brown, MLL Commissioner. "This year's All-Star game pits MLL's most talented players against an extremely skilled Team USA. This grudge match has historically proven to be one of the most exciting events our game has to offer and we are excited to have the opportunity to televise it on an ESPN network."
Since 2006, MLL has partnered with US Lacrosse every four years to showcase Team USA against the MLL All-Stars prior to the World Championships. In the most recent matchup in 2014, Team USA edged out the MLL All-Stars 10-9, so the athletes are eager for a rematch.
Tickets for the MLL All-Star Game are available now on Ticketmaster or through MajorLeagueLacrosse.com.
