Erie Becomes Third Team To Join AIFL For Inaugural Season

November 22, 2004 - American Indoor Football Association (AIFA) News Release

The Atlantic Indoor Football League is proud to welcome the return of Erie, PA back into the world of professional indoor football with the addition of the Erie Freeze to the league lineup for its first season in 2005. The team will play in the 7,000-seat Louis J. Tullio Arena at the Erie County Civic Center complex.

Erie was last home to the Erie Invaders of the Indoor Football League.

"Erie is a great indoor football town and it's about time the city got another football team," said AIFL President Andrew Haines.

"The fans in Erie really supported the Invaders and we in the AIFL look forward to getting heavily involved in the local community," said AIFL Vice President of Operations Rick Matsko.

A press conference will be announced soon to formally introduce the team and its front office staff.

The Atlantic Indoor Football League is the hottest new professional football league and will kickoff its inaugural season April 1, 2005. For more information about the AIFL, visit www.aiflonline.com or contact Joey Josephs, Director of Media Relations, by e-mail at jjosephs@aiflonline.com.
